Vehicle Registration Services Alert: The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) "classic" online vehicle registration
renewal portal is no longer available. At this time, not all vehicle registration services are available online. If you're
eligible for online vehicle registration renewal, please use Texas by Texas (TxT) to create an account, link your eligible
vehicle, and complete your transaction. You can review TxT FAQs and Vehicle Registration Renewal FAQs for more
details. For more information about TxT, visit Texas.gov/TxT. If you have a commercial or government vehicle that
needs to be renewed, please visit the DMV website for information about in-person and mail-in renewal options.
Vehicle Registration Renewals Have Moved
Online motor vehicle registration renewals for Texans with a valid driver license are now available through Texas by
Texas (TxT).

Some services previously offered online are not available in TxT:
TxT provides its own alerts and reminders. Traditional TxDMV eReminders are no longer offered. You will still
receive your paper or digital renewal notice.
To update your address, submit Form VTR-146 by mail or visit your county tax office or a TxDMV Regional
Service Center.
Some trailers cannot be renewed in TxT. If online renewal is unavailable, visit your county tax office or an
authorized renewal partner (such as grocery stores or insurance companies).
TxT accounts are for individuals only. These vehicles must be renewed in person.
